Bevan reviews Ciren clash

PRE-SEASON is a time for fitness and fine tuning, and Fairford boss Jody Bevan took plenty of positives from Tuesday night’s encounter at Cirencester Town.

Bevan handed a number of potential new recruits a chance to impress, and having gone in 2-0 at the break despite a positive start – the boss, himself a former Centurions regular, offered his thoughts after the hosts added four further goals with a late flurry to leave a 6-0 scoreline.

“We had a very positive first 45 – I thought we matched Ciren in a lot of areas and 2-0 down was a harsh scoreline to be honest,” said Bevan, on the eve of his second season in charge at Cinder Lane.

“As the second half progressed, lots of changes disrupted the flow and they picked us off in the second period with further changes and tiredness.

“Overall, several players put in good performances and have given me food for thought. Despite being beaten six, I was happy with how it went and we now look forward to the visit of Swindon Supermarine next Tuesday.”

A reminder entry is FREE to all supporters on Tuesday 24th July as Fairford Town host Swindon Supermarine at Cinder Lane (7.45pm).
