An Evening with Nigel Owens at Fairford

FOUR tickets have become available for Friday’s sell-out event with international rugby referee Nigel Owens.

The event sold out within three days of sale back in April, but four tickets have gone back on sale due to a cancellation.

A major coup for the club, the visit of the World Cup referee takes place the evening before the Lions first test in New Zealand.

About Nigel Owens

Nigel Owens (born 18th June 1971 Mynyddcerrig, Carmarthenshire) is a Welsh International rugby union referee. He is an international and Heineken Cup Referee. He was a referee at the 2007 and 2011 Rugby World Cup and took charge of the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final.

Nigel was appointed as an international referee in 2005 and his first international was between Ireland and Japan. His first World Cup match was in 2007 in the Argentina and Georgia.He is one of only two referees to be appointed to referee two consecutive Heineken Cup Finals: Munster v Toulouse in 2008 and Leicester Tigers v Leinster in 2009. He has since done a third final at Twickenham Leinster v Ulster in 2012. This plus two Amlin finals makes a total of 5 European Finals making him the most capped referee in European competition.

In 2011 he was made a member of the Gorsedd of Bards. He is a patron of The Wooden Spoon Rugby Charity and also of Bullies Out charity in Wales.

Nigel is now one of the top referees in World Rugby – confirmed by the appointment of refereeing the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final.

He was awarded the MBE in the 2016 Birthday Honours List.
