FAIRFORD Town manager Jody Bevan is pushing on with preparations for the new season following the news that the club will remain in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division.
Pre-season plans are being finalised as well as discussions with players as the manager prepares for his second season in charge at Cinder Lane.
“Obviously I’m absolutely delighted with the news that we are staying in the Premier Division,” Bevan told fairfordtownfc.co.uk
“I’m so happy for the committee and the players who stuck at it through thick and thin. I feel this is the reward they deserve.
“Personally I feel more a sense of relief rather than celebration and we must now look to kick on and ensure that we don’t find ourselves in this position again. I feel we made huge strides forward over the course of the season and the players bought into what I was trying to achieve.
“We have laid some solid foundations both on and off the pitch and I feel the club has a real identity, direction and respect that I sensed was lacking when I took over. It’s my job to now build on those foundations.”
The manager has almost completed plans for a run of pre-season warm-up games against a range of opposition as the Reds look to be in the best possible shape ahead of the new campaign.
“I am now finalising the plans for pre-season and I hope to keep all of the players who were with the club at the end of the season whilst also looking to add and improve the squad.”
