MASON Thompson scored a brace as Fairford Town secured their first Premier Division point of the campaign in an entertaining 3-3 draw with a Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
The hosts made a dream start to the game as they opened the scoring through captain Lee Smith with just six minutes on the clock.
And it was 2-0 inside the 20 minute mark as former Bassett man Mason Thomson opened his Fairford account to double the advantage.
However Bassett were soon level with Matt Bennett grabbing a goal back on the half-hour mark before striker Brad Pagliaroli drew the visitors level on 33 minutes.
There was further drama on the stroke of half-time with the fifth goal of the night, a first of the season for Rob Lincoln to put the Wiltshire side in front going into the interval.
