FAIRFORD Town’s reserves moved into fourth spot in Division Two West after a 4-2 home triumph over Faringdon.
A double strike from Danny Hale and further goals from Jack Bright and Aaron Dale helped the Reds to victory.
The home side started brightly and took the lead with 20 minutes on the clock. Good work on the left flank from Lewis Petrie saw him cross for Jack Bright, whose effort was deflected past the visiting ‘keeper.
Faringdon worked their way back into the game and drew level ten minutes later with a looping cross-come-shot. Home stopper Grant Davies then couldn’t hold a low shot with the visitors’ marksman on hand to tap home the loose ball for the half-time lead.
The Reds rallied and made a determined start to turn the game around. When Lewis Petrie was brought down, Hale stepped up and slotted the ball into the corner to restore parity. Davies then redeemed for his earlier error with several good stops before Hale’s powerful drive 15 minutes from time gave Fairford the lead.
Andy Bright saw his side make the game safe when substitute Wayne Petrie’s flick on was met by Aaron Dale who finished well to put the seal on a 4-2 win.
The reserves host Brimscombe & Thrupp at Cinder Lane next Saturday 3rd December (3pm KO).
