Manager Gareth Davies steps down

GARETH Davies has stepped down as manager of Fairford Town FC.

After three years in charge of the Hellenic League club, former Fairford player Davies has decided the time is right to step aside.

‘It’s been a fantastic three years at a club I love, but the time’s right to move on.’

Assistant manager Ady Roper, goalkeeping coach Mike Alexander and first team coach Chris Robinson will also be departing.

‘I’d like to think we’re leaving the club in a great position, having won the Division One West title.

‘It gives the club time to look for someone to take over, but for me it’s about stepping aside and recharging the batteries.

‘I’ve had some great times at Fairford as a player and manager, and take away some brilliant memories from this season.’

Fairford Town FC would like to sincerely thank Gareth, Ady, Mike and Chuff for their considerable time and efforts during their tenure – you’ll always be welcome at Cinder Lane.
