FAIRFORD Town’s playing surface received a boost today with a visit from FA pitch advisors as part of the national Pitch Improvement Programme (PIP).
Organised by the Gloucestershire FA, the visit saw FTFC Groundsman Martin Radway, President Mike Tanner and Secretary Bill Beach discuss the pitch with visiting delegates as well as possible improvements.
In 2016 The FA launched an £8 million commitment to improve football pitches across the country over the next four years.
The Pitch Improvement Programme (PIP) will deliver improvements to more than 2,000 grass pitches.
The FA facilities & investment team works in partnership with the Institute of Groundsmanship to develop a grass pitch maintenance service which can be utilised by grassroots football clubs, with the simple aim of improving the quality of grass pitches.
Fairford Town FC is proud of the Cinder Lane playing surface and once again wish to thank Groundsman Martin Radway for his countless hours of care and attention in managing what is one of the best pitches in the Hellenic League.
