Report: Fairford Town 1 Windsor 1

CONNOR Thompson made an instant impact on his return to Cinder Lane with a goal against Windsor.

Thompson joined in midweek on loan from Swindon Supermarine and headed home a well-taken leveller against the Berkshire side.

It was Windsor who took the lead with Daniel Roberts finishing from close range to put the visitors ahead with 21 minutes played.

Fairford ‘keeper Harrison Ellis made several good first half saves to deny Windsor a second goal, as the score remained 1-0 going into the break.

Thompson then intervened just after the hour, as he directed a pinpoint delivery from captain Callum Preece past visiting keeper Hugo Sobte.

Fairford then created a host of chances with John Thomas and Thompson both denied what would have perhaps been a deserved winner for the hosts.
