FAIRFORD Town extended their unbeaten league run to seven games with a comprehensive 6-0 home win over New College Swindon on Saturday.
Winger Jason Milhench netted a treble as the Reds ended the day second in the table with a game in hand on leaders Hook Norton.
The Cinder Lane side opened the scoring on 15 minutes with Milhench cutting inside before unleashing a low shot that seemed to deceive the visiting stopper and find the back of the net.
Lee Smith doubled the advantage two minutes later with superb control from a through ball before curling the ball into the bottom corner. Midfielder Luke Cordery made it three on the stroke of half-time as he finished from close range following a goalmouth melee.
The 3-0 half-time advantage was built upon in firm fashion. A corner from the right was met by a thundering header by young defender Ben Saunders at the back post to make it 4-0. Milhench finished well for a 70th minute fifth goal before completing his hat-trick with a low drive with 15 minutes left on the clock.
It was a fluent display from the Gloucestershire side who have a chance to test themselves against higher opposition once again when they host Longlevens on Tuesday night in the GFA Challenge Trophy (7.45pm).
