FAIRFORD Town secured a Supplementary Cup semi-final date with Tuffley Rovers after an 8-2 home win over Henley Town on Thursday night.
It was an entertaining encounter for the neutral with Fairford facing a youthful Henley side who had plenty of energy early on, making a fast start to the quarter-final tie.
There were just three minutes on the clock and James Spruyt fires the visitors into the ascendancy before Ben Saunders levelled things up seven minutes later. The left-back then stepped up and fired home to put the Reds in front for the first time.
Levi Cox powered his way through before slotting home from an acute angle to make it 3-1 before another from the Premier Division strugglers before the interval reduced the arrears to 3-2.
After the break Dan Drewett made it 4-2 on 53 minutes before Cox wasted a chance for a fifth from close range. Josh Morse struck number six just after the hour with Cox making amends with a sweet volley on 68 minutes for 7-2.
Sam Ockwell rounded off the scoring. His volley at the back post had been superbly blocked on the line by young Henley ‘keeper Garry Aulsberry, but Ockwell poked home the rebound.
Fairford will travel to Tuffley Rovers in the semi-final to be played at Glevum Park on Thursday 20th April, 7.45pm.
