Smith steps down, Steadman joins

FAIRFORD Town Football Club can confirm Chris Smith has left the club due to family commitments.

Having been appointed Joint Manager at the end of May, Smith brought considerable experience and began pre-season working with Jody Bevan. However, he has informed the club he is not able to commit to the expected levels at this present time.

Jody Bevan has now been appointed manager with immediate effect and has appointed Will Steadman as assistant manager.

Steadman played over 150 games for Gloucester City and was on the touchline for Tuesday’s season opener at Tuffley Rovers. He also played for Cinderford Town and Shortwood United during an established career in non-league circles.

The club would like to thank Chris for his efforts and hope to see him back on the training pitch in the not too distant future.
